Had a great meal here.
The service was a bit hit and miss. One female waitress was great, friendly and very funny. One waiter was obviously new and not so efficient, although we still enjoyed our visit enough to return as the food was of a great standard.
This was our 1st visit and decided to try it out using a living social voucher.
We have mixed views on the Ashoka chain these days, some are great, others not so good ( Ashoka at the Mill being the worst of the bad !! ).
The living social deal included a cocktail each...
Following our popadoms and spicy onions we started with chicken poori and chicken balochi, both were excellent, especially the poori which was plentiful and very tasty.
We both had chicken karahi bhoona and although the flavours were excellent and we both enjoyed it we would have preffered it to be more spicy, that is not a criticism just a personal preference.
All in all it was a great meal and we will certainly return

i purchased a voucher through the living social website it cost me £14 for 2 2 course meals fried rice and nan plus 2 cocktails.i went to book a table and typed the restaurant name into google to find the number and stumbled across this site, after reading the reviews i was very apprehensive about going and not looking forward to it at all but i can actualy say the experience we had was really good we were sat at a table at the window over looking the river the waiter was very polite, helpful and explained what was included in the voucher.the starter came quickly and was delicious and also the main was of excellent standard we paid for 2 puddings and a few drinks and were totaly satisfied when we left.we will be going back without doubt and would reccomend to friends just goes to show dont believe everything u read on these sites.

My wife and i went to this restraunt because we got a deal through groupcon. We paid £18 for a £50 deal but when we arrived we got offered the buffet and a free glass of wine. I never seen anything that would resemble £50 and as for the food we were really dissapointed as the buffet was all dried up, plates were not removed from our tables and we were constantly pestered by the waiter Veedee (speaks volumes) Avoid like the plague

Me and my friends went to glasgow for a break, and we ended up finding this beautiful looking resturant, which was recomended by locals here.
The restaurant is tastefully updated and has a much more airy feel. It was nice and busy when we arrived. The starter platter was brought to us quite quickly and was a good selection which consisted of chicken Tikka, vegetable spring role all of which went down an absolute treat. After a brief break, our mains were brought out both were generous portions and accompanied by a good helping of fluffy fried rice. I have to admit, the pair of us wolfed them down as they were excellent. Just how Indian should be, with the bitter, spicy and sour flavours working together wonderfully. No sign of the dreadful rubbery meat that other establishments serve either!
We were all very satisfied and rathar full. Service throughout was superb, The staff was so polite and the manager was verry friendly. we ended up we wanted for nothing and it certainly wasn't intrusive. It was a really enjoyable meal and there was definitely a buzz to the place. The value too was excellent, for the starter, mains, rice and drinks. I look forward to returning in the not so distant future.
A must visit if your in glasgow!!

The staff of the Ashoka at the Quay are friendly and attentive. The problem is the food. The Ashoka chain is at least consistent; serving consistently mediocre food (a judgement based on an a la carte lunch at their Livingtson branch and a recent a la carte dinner at the Quay). An onion bhaji starter comprised two hockey pucks, overcooked on the outside and a powdery mush on the inside that tasted of raw spices. The other starter, chicken pakora, looked and tasted as if it had been sourced from Farm Foods. Main course of traditional chicken bhoona had none of the rich tomatoey sauce you would expect and a chicken jaipuri was equally anonymous. A 'special fried rice' was just a weird hotch-potch of rice and random vegetables. The naan bread was good. For the lack of authentic cooking, we won't be hurrying back.

Ashoka at the Quay, is the WORST restaurant i have been to in my life, a group of us went before taking in a movie, we opted for the buffet, huge mistake, the food was absolutely disgusting dried up mush and for the vegetarian well i would not have fed that to my dog, the older woman and man servers were arguing with one another the whole time we were there not a nice site, the chef should be sacked immediately along with the older woman and man server, it was my first time at ashoka quay and the last, we are a once a month group of movie goers at the quay who have made our way round all the restaurants there but will not return to ashoka! (not my first time at ashoka restaurants the others were good) this one is letting you down harlequin!
