Whilst we were slightly concerned by the user reviews we needn't have been as the food and service were both excellent. Having travelled across South East Asia and lived out in that part of the world my wife and I were both pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the flavours. Yes - the decor feels a little like it's been home made but that doesn't separate it from the sorts of restaurants you actually do find out in that part of the world. The chicken satay was exquisitely flavoured and the tempura fresh, crispy and beautifully cooked however the main courses really stood out. The steamed sea bass was lovely and fresh with just a delicate hint of chilli whilst the green curry left a fresh spicy taste in the mouth without ever being overpowering. Service was quick, friendly and all done with a wonderful smile. Highly recommended!

3. JulieI – 22 Jun 2010, 1:58pm Lanna Thai Report: Went to Lanna Thai for first time on Sunday with my dad for fathers day. I would like to point out, it is no longer a BYOB restaurant.
The meal was lovely, cant fault it at all. Had to wait a while on starter but it was worth it.
I would definitely recommend it!

2. Ollie – 12 Jun 2010, 10:55am Report: The first time we went there the meal was good. The 2nd time has put us off going back. We got our starter and then had to wait an hour for our next course. Us, along with another couple were ignored because some Thai customers had come in after us and were getting priority service. No apologies were given. When my meal came it was a curry made with pre-cooked cheap packet chicken. I could barely eat it. Very disappointing experience and we wont be going back for a meal. This happened in the Autumn 2009 so maybe it's improved since then.

1. Mark Walker – 18 May 2008, 4:29pm Report: Been twice. First time great food and service. Second time - did you run out of chillies for the Jungle Curry because mine was lacking any - which being the main part of the dish is kind of important!
Lanna is like all other Musselburgh eateries - a real hot or a miss!
