Originally an 18th century coaching inn, this independent hotel continues to be a draw for travellers, weary or otherwise. A converted beamed barn houses an AA rosette restaurant, open at weekends for a la carte dining, while the lounge offers bar meals and daily specials throughout the week. Along with 14 neat bedrooms, there's a CAMRA-recognised selection of ales, a cocktail bar with a copper canopied fire at its heart and a garden patio that's bound to tempt you to linger longer on a summer's day.

We recently attended a 50th birthday celebration at theUplawmoor hotel and the 16 who attended felt everything was wonderful. From arrival the staff were extremely attentive.
On arrival we had drinks in the cocktail bar accompanied by homemade sweet potatoe and parsnip crisps. The home made bread with the meal was lovely as was the meal itself. The portions were very generous and having had the garlic mushrooms and steakpie, I have to say there were very enjoyable.
Towards the end of the evening staff presented my friend with a complementary birthday cake from Uplawmoor hotel and staff also took a group photo and presented it to my friend at the end of the evening. It was a lovely touch to a great evening.
I look forward to my next visit to the Uplawmoor hotel. Great value for money, very attentive staff and beautiful food.

Glasgow, United Kingdomwe had stayed in this hotel for my brothers weddin ,we came back to the hotel at 12:30 and stayed my dads room so we could all chat there was a 5 year old girl there too.the manager came up to ask us to keep the noise down and brought a hammer with him and said as we were from glasgow he thought we might cos hassle, even though we had 3 kids under the age of 10 and had he intent in using it.we went to our beds and tried to complain the next morning and the woman we spoke to was dissmisive and rude who was not willing to listen.she admitted she knew the manager brought a hammer but said he was not going to use it either way it was unacceptable.its a shame as the hotel itself was lovely and decent for the price .
